First-Ever Mazda CX-70 Driven in Australia
As the latest flagship in Mazda’s five-seat SUV range, the First-Ever Mazda CX-70 sets a new standard for dignified performance.
The powerful, refined and sporty SUV had its time to shine and demonstrate its ‘Zoom-Zoom’ dynamics recently at the local press launch held in Maleny, Queensland.
Australian media sampled the sharp new model on a mixture of roads and driving conditions in the local area, extensively testing the advanced inline six-cylinder turbocharged petrol and diesels back-to-back, getting to know the lavishly equipped GT, Azami and Azami SP specifications, as well as finding out what makes the CX-70 unique in the Mazda model range.
A common theme among the reviews is the feeling of an engaging and dynamic driving experience that rewards keen drivers, a capacious cabin and cargo area, extensive equipment regardless of the specification chosen and an overall air of quality.
Here’s a taste of what the Australian media had to say about their time with the First-Ever, All-Hybrid Mazda CX-70:
“I’m really impressed with the ride quality and how quiet it is in here. It’s a really pleasant thing to drive” – Chasing Cars
“The 2025 Mazda CX-70 offers a pleasant drive and a spacious, well-presented and well-appointed interior” – CarSales
“It’s got a rear biased AWD system and it feels pretty dynamic to drive, there’s no doubt about that. If that’s your priority, the CX-70 could be a good choice for you” – The Right Car?
“Inside, it's a plush and premium-feeling space, with lovely cabin materials, plenty of tech, and plenty of space” – Carsguide
“The CX-70 offers muscular petrol and diesel engines, a luxurious and spacious cabin, and a long list of equipment” – Drive
“The engines? Cracking, when you get them moving. There’s ample power from the petrol, which happily sings up to about 7000rpm, while the diesel’s lower-rev urge helps propel it in a more effortless fashion. And both sound pretty good, too" – GoAuto
The First-Ever Mazda CX-70 five-seat SUV is now ready to order from Gympie Mazda.
